Crafton Felon Sentenced to 2 ½ Years in Prison for Possessing Guns

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, August 3, 2010, that Hardy Carroll Lloyd, a resident of Crafton, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 2 ½ years in prison followed by three years of supervised release on his conviction of violating federal firearms laws.
Senior United States District Judge Gustave Diamond imposed the sentence on Lloyd, age 32.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Margaret E. Picking, on May 27, 2009, Lloyd, a convicted felon, possessed 10 firearms and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, which were found in his Crafton apartment during a search by his parole officer. As a convicted felon, Lloyd is not permitted to possess a firearm.
Prior to sentencing, Judge Diamond noted that Lloyd had the potential to pose a danger to himself and others and observed that Lloyd had a “small arsenal” of weapons in his apartment.
Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Lloyd.
