Recent Escapees from Yemen Prison Added to Most Wanted Terrorists and Seeking Information - War on Terrorism Lists

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Federal Bureau of Investigation today announced additions to its Most Wanted Terrorists and Seeking Information - War on Terrorism lists. Individuals on these lists are being sought for their alleged involvement in various terrorist attacks or planned attacks around the world.

Added to the Most Wanted Terrorists list, which was originally established in October of 2001, are Jamel Ahmed Mohammed Ali Al-Badawi and Jaber A. Elbaneh. The United States indicted Al-Badawi for his involvement in the October 2000 attack on the USS Cole in Aden, Yemen, which killed 17 sailors and wounded 40 others. Elbaneh is indicted in the United States for allegedly providing material support and resources to Al Qaeda. He is associated with a terrorism investigation in the Buffalo, New York, area.

Added to the Seeking Information - War on Terrorism list is Abdullah Al-Rimi. Al-Rimi is also sought for questioning relating to any knowledge he might have of the attack on the USS Cole.

All 20 of the individuals on the Most Wanted Terrorists list have been indicted by federal grand juries in various jurisdictions throughout the United States. The eight individuals on the Seeking Information - War on Terrorism list are being sought in connection with possible terrorist threats against the United States.
