Hector R. Sealey

Washington field office Director’s Community Leadership Award 2011

The Washington Field Office is pleased to honor Mr. Hector R. Sealey for his commitment to the Washington Field Office (WFO) Citizens Academy Alumni Association (CAAA). As an active member of the FBI Citizens Academy executive board, he has shown commitment and dedication to the mission of working with WFO to enhance community involvement, crime prevention, and drug deterrence.

Mr. Sealey was elected president of the CAAA in July 2009. He has made outstanding contributions to help at-risk youth by participating with five area schools in partnership with WFO’s Adopt-A-School program.

Every year, Mr. Sealey has visited the schools selected to participate in the WFO Adopt-A-School program to stress the importance of staying in school, remaining drug free, and not joining gangs. He has also developed a parent survey to measure the success of the Junior Special Agent (JSA) program.

His efforts have included not only the investment of time, but also a significant financial commitment through the CAAA. Mr. Sealey plays a major role in ensuring funds are allocated for the students to participate in a variety of events, including trips to Johns Hopkins Medical Center to attend educational presentations and a JSA Incentive Day to honor students who exemplify excellent behavior.

Mr. Sealey has provided funding for a number of CAAA initiatives, to include a Wounded Warriors visit to WFO, the annual JSA picnic held at the FBI Academy, holiday parties and gifts for JSA students, and plaques for Citizens Academy graduation ceremonies.
